Roxbury is a neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts, and one of the original towns founded in the United States. It was situated near a large transportation route that led to its rapid growth.

As one of the original towns established in Boston, Roxbury was founded in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1630. It held the only land route to the capital, making it one of the most important trades and transportation hubs at the time.
